Revelstoke at a Glance
Surrounded by natural beauty, Revelstoke is located in the BC
Rockies near Mount
Revelstoke National Park and Glacier
National Park, and has become a year-round outdoor playground. Heli-hiking,
white-water rafting, camping and other summer activities draw many visitors to
this alpine town. In the winter, over 20 metres of annual snowfall beckons snowmobile
and alpine skiing enthusiasts. The clean, crisp air and fluffy, untouched powder
provides the perfect backdrop and the vastness of the surrounding area allows
Heli and Cat skiing to open up kilometres of untracked snow to skiers and snowboarders
alike. The Canadian Pacific Railway was completed outside of Revelstoke in 1885,
and The
Last Spike signifies that historic unifying of Canada. Revelstoke's pioneer
heritage is also evident with a visit to the Three
Valley Gap Ghost Town. Located alongside the Trans-Canada
Highway, this attraction allows visitors to glimpse back in time and tour
a formerly abandoned railway town.
